U.S. Sending More Forces to Middle East as Iran War Widens
Gen. Dan Caine, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, said more troops and fighter jets were heading to the region. He acknowledged the possibility of an extended campaign.

President Trump and his top aides warned on Monday that the U.S. military campaign in Iran would intensify and potentially stretch on for weeks, as fighting spread across the Middle East and the death toll continued to rise.
“Whatever the time is, it’s OK, whatever it takes,” Mr. Trump said at the White House, in his first public event since the fighting began on Saturday. “Right from the beginning, we projected four to five weeks, but we have the capability to go far longer than that.”
